An Incurable Case of Love's Maki Enjōji Launches New Manga Series in June

The May issue of Shogakukan's Petit Comic magazine revealed on Monday that Maki Enjōji will start a new series in the July issue on June 8.

Enjōji also published the one-shot manga "Ore-sama no Ki mo Shiranaide" (She Doesn't Even Notice How Great I Am; seen right) in the May issue. The 44-page manga has color pages.

The romantic comedy one-shot manga's story centers on an overly self-confident man named Saeki. He looks perfect on the outside, and has a successful career, but his personality is regrettable. He falls in love at first sight with a woman who works at a ramen shop. However, the woman seems to be interested in nothing except ramen.

Viz Media released all 10 volumes of Enjōji's Happy Marriage!? manga series in North America, as well as both volumes of Enjōji's SP Baby manga. Happy Marriage!? inspired a live-action series in 2016.

Viz Media recently licensed Enjōji's An Incurable Case of Love (Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko made mo) manga. The company will release the first volume in October. Enjōji launched the manga in Shogakukan's Petit Comic magazine in February 2016 and ended the series on January 8. Shogakukan published the manga's seventh and final compiled book volume on March 8.

Miura last published a new chapter for the manga in August.

Miura launched the manga in 1989, and Hakusensha released the manga's 40th compiled book volume last September. Dark Horse Comics released the 39th volume in English on July 11.

Dark Horse Comics is reprinting the series in an embossed hardcover deluxe edition "in Miura's preferred 7x10 format." The first of these new releases shipped on February 27.

He makes his way through the world on a quest to slay a former friend turned demon, who took everything away from him.

Warner Bros. Japan announced on Friday that two new live-action film adaptations of Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin manga will premiere in summer 2020. The adaptations mark the final chapter of the live-action film series. The first part covers Jūji Kizu no Nazo (Mystery of the Cross-Shaped Scar), and the second part is Saikyō no TekiEnishi (Most Terrifying Enemy - Enishi). Warner Bros. Japan opened a website for the films.

Takeru Satoh is reprising his role as Kenshin Himura, and Keishi Ōtomo is returning to direct the films.

A report about actress Emi Takei, who plays Kaoru Kamiya in the films, had revealed in September 2017 that a new live-action film adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin was planned.

The first live-action Rurouni Kenshin film opened in 2012 in Japan, while the first two sequels opened in August and September 2014. The films collectively grossed more that US$160 million internationally. Funimation screened all three films in United States theaters in August, September, and October 2016, respectively.

An anime series aired in Japan from 1996 to 1998 and spawned several anime video projects and an anime film. Viz Media published the original manga and the two-volume Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration reboot manga in North America, while Media Blasters released the television anime. ADV Films released the two Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal and Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection video anime projects and the Rurouni Kenshin: The Motion Picture anime film on DVD, and Aniplex later released these three titles on Blu-ray Disc. Sentai Filmworks released the more recent Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc video anime series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
